Communications

Jess Brown – Jennifer Adams will be sending out the PSO newsletters Sunday PM or Monday AM (first one goes out 8/20). Send her updates with pictures / verbiage by noon on Friday. Jess will post drop off map on social media before the first day of school. She'd also like to send out times building is open this week if students need to come to school to walk schedule, organize lockers, etc. Castle Campaign link in stories. Jen R. now has access to the website to update PSO information (treasurer reports, minutes, etc.).

Fundraising

Devon Bussen – First Dine-to-Donate MOD Pizza on Sep. 28th (will be in newsletter this week). School Store will open Sep. 13th. Inventory chair position still open. School Supply Kits came late on Friday, but otherwise went well. $1,391 proceeds (over income budget).

School Events

Stephanie Stempf – Back to School Orientation went smoothly. Maybe combine a few of the PSO tables to streamline next year and have available list of known calendar dates for PSO events. Discussion followed with ideas of moving to commons if possible and sending home a paper with all QR codes (or add to checklist) to access from home. Glow Bash will be Oct. 27th. Newsletter on Monday will include a Save the Date. Cap will be 250 (no refunds). Will go live for sale Tuesday after Labor Day Sept. 5th. No orientation for 7th and 8th graders – only 6th graders (they will come early). Discussion followed regarding snacks and drinks (a lot of waste, but not a lot leftover). Fun Run date TBD. Open House is on Thursday. Jen R. will get cookies (need to renew Sam's Membership). Still some chair positions to fill in School Events.

Service Projects

Jenny Arbuszewski – Mullen Dragon project – PSO was approached by administration on funding for the dragon created by Mr. Mullen. PSO will ask them to submit a grant request and will consider funding for the project in first round of grants sometime in Sept./Oct. Jenny A. will also follow up with Priscilla to see if there are any leftover funds from Spring grants (PSO gives grant money to school and the school disburses the funds and reimburses the teachers based upon actual receipts. Sometimes receipts are less than initial grant requests and sometimes purchases are not made). Discussion followed to include a date by which teachers need to submit receipts for reimbursement and Spring grant money not spent should be returned to the PSO before end of the fiscal year to ensure proper cutoff of funds and so that any funds not spent go back into the overall PSO budget per the bylaws.
