Treasurer's Report
Laycie Norris-Wagner – Met with Dawn last week–summary from June sent out, all checks cleared and last year's business is now officially closed, new bank cards being issued and should arrive 7-10 days, we do have checks in possession
- June meeting updates included, the only thing not yet included is the Merlin awards. Doesn't need its own line item but we need to bump up the total for student recognition
- Need to make sure the walkie talkies have cleared
- $4411 should be left to start the new year assuming nothing new pops up in audit (to be sent out in August)--should be able to move into school improvement fund at the next meeting
- Everything should pretty much stay the same besides student recognition (should have about $800 in budget now to use towards Merlin)-question: is that enough?
- Expecting about 90 students per quarter to earn Merlin
- May be able to get bagels from Einstein or Bread Co for free, could be added to donuts for breakfast events
- Student of the month: simple breakfast, want to go back to including parents
- Total current budget for student recognition is about $2000 for upcoming year
Vice President's Reports
Communications
Getting rid of paper buzz book, will remove line item for paper buzz book income
- MTK-Martha is still in charge, on the 30/31 everything will roll over to update grades, etc for new year
- Already have 1 donation for this year–Martha shut down option for now so any donations are correctly allocated
- Newsletter–anything to be included by noon on Friday (unless major weekend event then something can be added in)
- Jen would love to send out a newsletter soon before the start of school-already written and just needs to be sent out
- Will include forms for people to volunteer for orientation
- Castle campaign forms will also be included
- Jen would love to send out a newsletter soon before the start of school-already written and just needs to be sent out
Fundraising
position still open –
- Jen Adams volunteered to set up the first dine to donate–will plan for September
- School store–inventory is open and we need to find someone to fill the position, decide when to start opening with Dr. Hedrick
- Sara Wright still doing Fun Food Fridays
- Sara Carpenter is still doing the FACS kits and is moving on them now
- School supply kits have been ordered, will be delivered to Priscilla, we need to sort all of the kits by grade and the student names need to be put on them (kind of a big job-may need 2 volunteers to cover this) and will need volunteer to distribute them at orientation and recruit a new volunteer for next year
- Volunteer lanyards–we still have a few left, we need to decide if we still want to sell them (only made $154 last year)--plan to sell what we have remaining and then probably scratch them (no longer on the orientation form for this year)
School Community
Julie Southwick –
- April Ladner and Tiffany Lampman for Staff Celebration, with April taking staff appreciation week
- Have people lined up for staff meals
- Adding people for Student Celebrations and splitting up into Merlin, breakfast, KORT, etc
- Checking on banners for things like student of the month (Monica prints out names already, office takes care of notifications)--can just do something like congratulations to the students of the month, suggestion to put sign on lockers (or something similar) so there is still a peer recognition component, switching from treat bags to donut/bagel for student of the month
School Events
Stephanie Stempf –
- We have everything from last year printed (QR codes and pictures from events last year)
- Orientation-have table layout from last year
- Many things can be paid online–that will remain
- PE uniforms are not required (not allowed to require that) but still an option to purchase as students ARE required to dress out
- Need to bring checkbooks or cash to pay for RVMS items
- School store punch cards–can purchase online or in person
- Can purchase FACS kits
- Glow bash has a date and work has begun
- Open House–Thursday August 17 (4-5:30)--may do cookies instead of ice cream
Service Projects
Jenny Arbuszewski – Will start thinking about Coin Drive once the school year begins to get a head start. Building Beautification is still open; we will respond to requests as they come in (no need to find someone to fill position unless there becomes a big need).
