School Community

The PSO values our school community and works hard to provide fun community activities for families to enjoy together, make the transition to a new school seamless, recognize the many accomplishments of the students and show our appreciation to the teachers and staff.

Community Events

The PSO works with area businesses to schedule monthly student and family events throughout the school year at discounted rates. Events and activities range from sporting events, jump parks, and fox theater shows to bowling and ice skating! Watch for information throughout the school year in the weekly PSO Newsletter.

New Family Welcome

Twice a year the PSO collaborates with the school to host a New Family Welcome. This is a great opportunity for new families to come together to meet other new families, meet the PSO and learn more about RVMS and the surrounding community. New families are encouraged to come with lots of questions not only about the school but about the community in which we all live. New Family Welcome meet ups are typically held in September and January. For more information, you can reach out to the school office or the PSO.

Student Recognition

The PSO works together with the school to recognize the many accomplishments of the RVMS students. Students of the Month (SoM) are selected by the teachers and staff and recognized at a monthly celebration breakfast. Parents are welcome to attend and celebrate these accomplishments at the start of the school day. Students are also awarded Excalibur awards in the spring and Knights of the Round Table (KORT) induction is in May, and Merlin Awards are recognized each quarter for GPA improvement. For more information on eligibility, contact the school office.

Teacher and Staff Appreciation

The teachers and staff work tirelessly in our school and for our students. The parent community likes to show our appreciation and support for all their hard work in several ways. Every year the PSO provides a back-to-school breakfast/lunch for the staff and teachers the week before school starts, as well as, dinner during the long parent-teacher conference days in the fall and the spring. The PSO also provides a catered lunch at the end of the school year to show our gratitude for a great school year!

The PSO looks to parent donations to help supplement the catered food that is provided to the teachers and staff. Watch for a volunteer sign-up to donate food items and to volunteer with set-up and clean-up.

Helping with Teacher/Staff Appreciation is a great opportunity for busy and working parents that like to be involved!

Teacher & Staff Birthday Celebrations

Who doesn't like a birthday celebration? We love birthday celebrations! Once a month, the PSO and parent volunteers donate sweet treats to celebrate monthly teacher and staff birthdays. We are always looking for parents to donate a variety of healthy snacks and sweet treats. If this is a way that you would like to help celebrate and support our teachers and staff, watch for volunteer and donation sign-ups in the weekly PSO newsletter. Donations can be dropped off at school, making this another great opportunity for busy and working parents to give back to our school.
